VAST satellite television

Television viewers who do not have adequate reception of terrestrial digital commercial television broadcasting services can access Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) services, under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (BSA).

Funded by the Australian Government, VAST gives access to a suite of metropolitan-equivalent broadcasting services to viewers in remote areas and in terrestrial digital television 'black spots'.

Register of conditional access schemes

The rules for accessing VAST are established in Part 9C of the BSA, as well as in the conditional access schemes registered for the VAST licence areas.

We keep a Register of Conditional Access schemes, as required under section 130ZE of the BSA.
