Outpost stations class licence

This class licence lets you use outpost stations to provide certain communications to remote locations.

What this licence is for

Outpost stations are intended to be used primarily to contact the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) for emergency medical aid.

This class licence lets you use an outpost station in the MF and HF bands. It is for remote locations where connection to a telecommunications network is not provided or available.

These stations communicate with base stations operated by the RFDS and with each other to provide:

  • emergency medical aid
  • certain public communications where there is no connection to a telecommunications network.

All users operate on shared frequencies.
