Outcome

The proposed updates to 7.2 GHz TOB channel arrangements were included in RALI FX03 on 28 October 2022.

The issue

Arrangements for television outside broadcast (TOB) services in the 7.2 GHz band (7100–7425 MHz) are contained in the Radiocommunications Assignment and Licensing Instruction (RALI) FX 03.

We want to replace the current analog base interleaved channel arrangements with a new channel raster to support digital services. The changes are also intended to support the transition of TOB services as a result of our decision to replan the 2 GHz band (1980–2010/2170–2200 MHz) for mobile satellite services.

Additional information on coordination requirements between TOB stations and earth receive stations that operate in the band provides greater guidance to industry.
