This class licence lets you use devices that communicate with a licensed PTS base station. 

What this class licence lets you do

This class licence lets you use devices that communicate with a licensed public telecommunications service (PTS) base station.

The devices include:

  • mobile phones
  • data devices, such as automatic tellers and soft drink machines

It also lets you use mobile devices on an aircraft that communicate with a licensed aircraft station.

You don't need to apply for a class licence or pay any fees.

But you must follow all the rules in the:

You must also follow standards set by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency.

Frequencies for cellular mobile telecom devices

You can only use the frequencies we have assigned to the PTS base station.

To use other frequencies, you may need to apply for an apparatus licence.
